2025 Research Award from the German Society of Pathology (DGP)

Henning Reis has received a 2025 Research Award from the German Society of Pathology (DGP) at the DGP2025 annual meeting.

Our research results on GDF-15 in urothelial carcinoma give insights of the potential effects of this immunosuppressive molecule at the molecular level and in the tumor microenvironment. They build on the promising results of the GDFather study on immunotherapy re-sensitization, which we were a part of.

Big thanks go to Florestan Koll (now at the University Hospital of Graz, AT) together with whom Henning Reis did the research and Peter Wild / Felix KH Chun, who got the ball rolling and made the work possible!

Henning Reis will donate my part of the price money to the research at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt at the Dr. Senckenberg Institute of Pathology.
